Why are the movies offered as "Streaming" and "Download"?

We want to offer our customers the best of both 'worlds' i.e. the ability to watch immediately or to download, save and watch later.

What is a stream?

A stream allows you to watch the video content immediately inside the Eros Player without having to wait for the complete file to be downloaded on to your PC. You can skip backward/forward during the stream. The content has been encoded to give the right quality without having a very large file. Note that you will always need an active Internet connection to watch a stream. Higher the connectivity you have, the better the experience.

Please Note: Do not close the browser until you have watched the full content, Click the refresh button of the browser to restart the stream.

What is a download?

A download allows you to save the movie / music video file to your PC and watch at a later time for your convenience. The encoding is at a much higher level and therefore the file is much larger than a stream giving better quality. When you see the Download to save page, you can specify the location where you want the file to be saved (please note this location for future reference). After the file has been downloaded successfully, you can click on the file and it will play inside the Windows Media Player.

There are 2 types of downloads available. Firstly there is the Rental Download which allows you to watch for 48 hours from first play. Secondly there is the Download to Own (DTO) which allows you to watch for an unlimited time on the PC where the download occurs i.e., the DRM licence does not expire.

How long does it take to download movies/music video?

The time that it takes to download a movie depends on your Internet connection and whether your ISP enforces any download restrictions based on size or continuous downloads. The faster your connection, the quicker the download.

What is "DRM", and how are the movies/music videos protected from piracy?

Digital Rights Management (DRM) refers to the technology used for the protection of digital media and software content, limiting access to only those end-users who have acquired a proper license to play the content. The DRM license allows different rules to be applied to the digital content. We have a rule that allows you to play the content only 10 times for 48 hours from the first play.

If you purchase a stream, the DRM license's 48 hours of play starts immediately when the Player launches.

If you purchase a Rental download, the DRM license's 48 hours only starts when you play the movie inside Windows Media Player (note it can be only for a few seconds but that will trigger the countdown). If the time has expired and you click the file to play again, a license Acquisition page displays which allows you to make another license purchase.

Note that you have up to 30 days to play the Rental downloaded file, after which time the license will expire. When you try to play it, you will need to purchase another DRM license.

If you purchase a Download to Own (DTO), there is no expiry for the DRM licence. You can watch as many times as you like whenever you like on the PC where you have downloaded the DTO file.

I cannot find the movie/music video that I downloaded or purchased. Where is it?

When you download a movie / music, you can specify where you want it to be saved. It is useful to make a note of the location for future reference. One suggestion is to create a new folder and label it On Demand. You can save all of our content there. You have complete flexibility and can save the files wherever you like.

Do I have to purchase a subscription in order to view or download movies?

No, you do not need a subscription to make a purchase. You can buy an item on a Pay per View basis, but the subscription gives you better value compared to making a purchase of a similar number of items on a Pay per View basis.

How long do I have to watch the movie I purchased?

The DRM (Digital Rights Management) license allows you to see the movie as many times as you want on your PC for 48 hours from the first play. After the 48 hours, you must use another credit to renew the license to view the same movie for an additional 48 hours.

I cannot hear any sound from the music videos that I downloaded. What's wrong?

Please check that the volume on the PC is not set to Mute or Low. Try to increase the level of volume on your PC. Check if you hear other sounds on your PC. For further information please contact support.

Are English or other language sub-titles available for any of the On Demand movies?

Currently, only English sub-titles are available and other language sub-titles are not available for any of the On Demand movies; however, other language sub-titles will be added to the movies in the future. Check back frequently for On Demand updates.

Can I watch On Demand movies on my TV?

Viewing On Demand (or anything else for that matter) on your TV set from your computer, depends on the type of video card you have.

All video graphics cards are configured with ports to connect a CRT or computer monitor to. Some cards have additional ports that allow you to connect the video card to external devices such as VCRs, TVs, etc. Almost all new computers come with a video graphics card that allows you to do this. If your video graphics card has a small round yellow plug (called an RCA port) on it, then it should support connecting up to your TV.

Simply connect an RCA cable between this port, and an AUX input on your VCR, DVD player, or TV. If connected to a VCR or DVD player, you will need to select the AUX input on the VCR/DVD player to pass the video over to the TV.

Some things to keep in mind:

Connecting to your VCR/DVD/TV in this manner will display your entire desktop from your computer just as if you were using the CRT computer monitor.

You may have to type a certain key combination on your keyboard to send the video out the RCA port. Refer to your computer and/or video graphics card manuals for further information.

Computer monitors have a higher resolution than a TV set, which means the video picture will be more clear and crisp when viewed on a computer monitor than it will when viewed on a TV set.

If you have a home audio sound system and wish to listen to the On Demand movie audio on it, as opposed to your computer speakers, this can be accomplished as well by using a 1/8" jack adapted to stereo RCA plugs. A special cable is needed with a 1/8" jack connector on one end, and a Red and White RCA connectors at the other end. Simply plug the 1/8" jack into the Speaker Out on your sound card and plug the Red (right) and white (left) into an AUX input on your stereo/receiver/deck and select it as the source.

If you don't have a spare RCA cable, you can purchase one at your local electronics store along with the 1/8" jack to stereo RCA cable.

What are subscriptions and credits?

A subscription is a purchase plan that allows you to have a periodic allocation of credits and is automatically renewed depending on the period of the plan.

A credit can be redeemed against any movie or music video depending on the type of plan for example music or movies plan. We will be offering a more comprehensive set of subscription plans in the future which will allow different content types to be mixed.

A monthly subscription will be renewed each month and any unused credits will be lost. A new set of credits for the following month will be made available on renewal.

An annual subscription will be renewed each year and any unused credits will be lost. A new set of credits for the following year will be made available on renewal.

If you cancel a subscription, you can redeem any unused credits available before the date that subscription would have been renewed on.

How do I get charged if my local currency is not USD, GBP or EUR?

Currency will be in USD
